Maryse is an artist based in Canada’s capital, Ottawa.
She creates visual poetry by combining, among other things, items and images that have meant something to us in another time. Thoughts and objects blend. Sayings, memories and emotions find a new life in her multi-dimensional works of art.
Initially trained in oil painting, she has extended her exploration of media to include papier-maché, wood carving, clay, paper-making, masks, found objects sculpture, glass etching, embroidery, photography, film, installations and ritually-based performance art.
Rosie’s Pierrot : mixed media - puppet, eggshell faces, conductor’s baton, antique metronome, blackboard paint and chalk with music written from a French children’s song “Au Clair de la Lune” (Pierrot répondit:’Je n’ai pas de plume, je suis dans mon nid’)
